My Story
Why I Chose Engineering —
And Why I StartedMason & Mortar.
When I completed my B.Tech in Civil Engineering in 2012, most of my peers were choosing Computer Science. I chose Civil — deliberately. I believed building homes was one of the most meaningful things an engineer could do for a family.
I entered the industry and saw a pattern that frustrated me every single time. Homeowners were making decisions based on price and brand name alone — not specifications, not material quality, not what was actually going into their walls and slabs. They had no way of knowing, and no one was telling them.
I spent my early years in construction site work while running labour contracting alongside. By 2014 I was fully operational with Zahra Builders — managing residential projects across Chennai for nearly a decade. Those years showed me the industry from the inside: where homeowners lost money, where quality was quietly compromised.
In September 2022, I closed Zahra Builders and founded Mason & Mortar with one clear purpose — to build a construction company where every homeowner knows exactly where their money goes, and where every decision is driven by engineering, not convenience.
My Philosophy
Three Things I Will
Never Compromise On.
01
Complete financial transparency
Every homeowner has the right to know exactly where every rupee of their money goes — at every stage, without asking. No vague summaries. No verbal updates. Documented proof.
02
Engineering drives every decision
No shortcut, no substitution, no 'it will be fine.' Every structural and material decision is backed by engineering logic — not what is convenient or cheaper for the contractor.
03
Quality is non-negotiable
Not on materials. Not on workmanship. Not on supervision. A home built right costs the same as one built wrong — until year three, when the difference becomes expensive.

Why Mason & Mortar Exists
We Don't Just Build Homes.
We Protect The InvestmentBehind Them.
Most homeowners build once in a lifetime. They deserve an engineer on their side — someone who explains every cost, supervises every stage, and refuses to cut corners regardless of who is watching.
That is what Mason & Mortar was built to be. Not just a construction company — a professional system that protects the homeowner at every step.
Financial clarity at every stage
Every rupee tracked, documented and visible — before it is spent, not after.
Engineering supervision on every project
A system — not a visit. 156 quality checks across 9 construction stages.
Complete visibility for NRI clients
Live CCTV, weekly WhatsApp reports, BuildTrack dashboard — your project visible from anywhere.

A Personal Note
From The Founder.
"Building a home is one of the biggest financial decisions a family will ever make. I personally review every project that carries the Mason & Mortar name — not because I have to, but because I believe every home deserves the same care, attention and integrity as if I were building it for my own family."
